Forestville MD is full of news this Friday evening heading into the weekend. What headlines are on the front page so to speak? Well, for starters, there is a politician that wants to see the speed limit increased for the Capital Beltway. Are you in favor of that motion? All in favor say aye. All opposed say no. The nos have it, but it will probably happen anyway. So be careful out there.
There was a break-in and sexual assault reported in Prince George’s County, and police have arrested a suspect. Also, backing up to that Beltway news story for a minute about the speed limit. There is a news report out about a speed camera that is catching plenty of people speeding, and many tickets have been issued. There are in fact proponents of raising speed limits in areas where people are speeding anyway. Why? The premise is that it gets people all going one speed and helps minimize accidents and fatalities.
That’s the idea, but I’m not so sure about that. I’m not a proponent of upping the speed limit. In other news, there is a story about a pastor who denounced remarks made by President Trump, and he did so with the Vice President sitting in one of the pews. It all had to do with what Trump supposedly said about immigrants from Haiti and other African nations.
What else is going on in Prince George’s County? Remains have been found and identified as a man that went missing months ago. Those are the major headlines for this Friday evening. That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more news hot off the press. Have a great weekend, and let’s hope the weather is good heading into the latter part of winter. Until next time, be safe.
